Hormones and Your Health
Hormone balance is key to overall health and wellness. However, when hormones become imbalanced, they can wreak havoc in the body. Hormones enable different parts of the body to communicate and control most major bodily functions, from basic needs like hunger to complex systems like reproduction. Adrenal glands are located on top of each kidney and synthesize both stress and sex hormones. Some of these hormones include epinephrine, norepinephrine, cortisol, estrogen, and testosterone. Dopamine and serotonin are other chemical messengers that play a role in balancing hormones as well. Did you know the food we eat and environmental chemicals we are exposed to can alter your hormone function? Did you know some chemicals can mimic hormones in the body leading to potentially dangerous health conditions? There is a very good chance that over the years you’ve experienced negative results from a hormone imbalance, but never understood the cause. Chronic stress, for example, is a major contributor to hormonal imbalances. Stress hormones play an important function. However, they can also disrupt other hormone functions often leading to poor health. My goal is to teach you the importance of stress and sex hormones and natural ways of keeping them in balance which is why I invite you to attend my next event, Got Belly fat? It's not you it's your Hormones! on Thursday, April 29th at 1:00 pm EDT. During this experience, I will also be discussing the role and function of epinephrine, norepinephrine, cortisol, estrogen, testosterone, dopamine, and serotonin during times of stress.
