Therapeutic Salt Room Insights
& Preparation for Your Visit
We live in a very polluted and pollen filled environment and toxins are everywhere. As a result, an increasing number of us suffer from asthma, sinusitis, and allergies. We clean our skin, hair, and brush our teeth but there are very few means available to clean out our lungs and respiratory tract. Respiratory tract hygiene can be achieved using Salt Therapy.
At Shores Wellness Solutions we provide luxurious accommodations, comfortable seating, a peaceful environment and a relaxed atmosphere. We offer 45-minute long sessions. The therapy involves sitting in the salt room in an adjustable and comfortable lounge chair. The room temperature and humidity is maintained at a comfortable level. Most people like to close their eyes, and some will fall asleep or meditate. There is no talking (including cell phones and/or texting) allowed during our adult sessions. For exclusive privacy, there is an option for booking a VIP private session at an extra charge.

Salt Room Rules
Arrive 10-15 minutes before your appointment time to fill out some paperwork and prepare for the session. We will not disturb a session after it starts, so please arrive on time.
Wear comfortable, clean clothing. The salt room is very sterile, and some customers are highly allergic to perfumes, lotions, hair sprays, and/or pet hair. Please wear clean and unscented clothing. White socks are recommended for the session. You will step over large pebbles of salt, which may feel like walking on small rocks. No shoes, outer coats, or purses are allowed inside the salt room. We have room to store your shoes and coats, but we do not provide lockers and therefore are not responsible for any lost or stolen items. Please leave your valuables in your car. Cell phones & electronics must be silenced.
No food, chewing gum, or drinks (including water) allowed during the session.
Please make sure you use the restroom before the session, so you do not disturb other customers leaving the room during the session.
It is very important to drink some water before and after your session. Complimentary water and hot tea, which helps to move the mucus out of your throat quicker will be provided.
Please do not touch walls or any decorations.
Do not come for a session during any active stage of any contagious disease.
If you are a smoker please make sure you wear fresh clothes and use mint wash, right before the session so you do not disturb other customers with the odor of nicotine.
We do not offer individual sessions for small children. We do however offer full sessions for families with small children. We do not allow kids under 12 years old alone inside the salt room. All minors under 18 years of age will require a signature of a parent or legal guardian before using salt therapy.
We allow a maximum of 5 adults at a time.
Salt Therapy Sessions
How many sessions will I need?
Every experience is different, and it depends on the type and severity of your condition. Based on the research, we would recommend a course of 10-12 sessions, preferably within 4-8 weeks. You may feel some improvement after a single session, but a series of sessions is required to achieve long-term results. For mild conditions, 6-8 sessions may be enough. Each session should be repeated every other day for several days, depending on your needs and the condition. It is recommended to repeat the series of sessions 2-3 times in a year. Some people use sessions as a preventative measure to avoid the common cold and other respiratory viruses, and for overall health & wellness.
What to expect after the therapy?
Some people will experience a mild salt taste on their lips, similar to being by the ocean. Others may experience a mild throat tickle, which can be easily treated by sipping warm water after the session. Some people will experience increased mucous production. This will present itself in the form of a runny nose or a productive cough after the session. This is the body’s natural mechanism for elimination of toxins, pollens, and viruses. If you have ever smoked in the past, you may experience a period of cough and mucous production as your body naturally clears the lungs of residual toxins. Most asthmatics will also experience an initial period of increased mucous production and cough as the body decreases inflammation, opens airways, and expels the stagnant mucous.
When should the therapy be avoided?
Therapy should be avoided during the acute (active) phase of any illness, including the following: infections accompanied by fever, contagious conditions, alcohol or drug intoxication.
*** To ensure your safety and the safety of our clients, we require that you reschedule if there shall be an evidence of any active phase and/or contiguous disease***
