Salt therapy is a drug-free and completely natural treatment with no side effects. It takes place in a dry and sterile environment that recreates a natural microclimate identical to ancient salt caves and salt mines. It is beneficial in asthma, allergies, respiratory and skin disorders, infections, and many more conditions including stress, ADHD and sleep apnea. Due to the antibacterial, antiviral, and anti-inflammatory properties of salt, Halotherapy can be used as a preventive therapy.
Salt therapy is a natural, drug-free, non-invasive and safe respiratory treatment where dry salt aerosol that has a small particle size and a negative electrical charge, is passively inhaled in a specially constructed salt room. The dry salt aerosol is gently blown into the salt room. The walls and the floor of the salt room are covered with crystal salt.
The salt room provides a negative ion environment (like the seashore), which besides its amazing health benefits, contributes to a feeling of well-being, and promotes stress reduction. The particles of salt are inhaled and travel into the deepest parts of the lungs and sinuses. The inhalation of the salt particles helps to open constricted airways, reduce inflammation, and increase the clearance of mucous.
Respiratory tract hygiene can be achieved using Salt Therapy. Halotherapy helps in cleaning pollens, viruses, pollutants, and toxins out of the lungs, sinuses, and nasal passageways thus preventing illness, decreasing allergies, irritation, and inflammation in the respiratory tract. Salt therapy helps in reducing stress, anxiety, and regulates sleep patterns. It can be used as a complementary treatment to prescribed medications with the approval of your doctor or as a sole preventive treatment.
We live in a very polluted and pollen filled environment. As a result, an increasing number of us suffer from asthma, sinusitis, and allergies. We clean our skin, hair, and brush our teeth but there are very few means available to clean out our lungs and respiratory tract.
When Halotherapy is used as a complementary treatment, it may increase the effectiveness of prescribed medications and even decrease their needed amount. It has been proven effective in multiple clinical trials in easing asthma, sinusitis, and bronchitis.
Why Dry Salt Therapy (Halotherapy)
Today, more and more people are suffering from respiratory issues. From pollution and smog to airborne diseases, pollens and toxins are everywhere. Never before has our society been faced with such a growing epidemic of respiratory ailments. Salt Therapy also enhances and impacts various skin conditions.
Salt Therapy has been researched over the past few decades and even centuries in history as proven to be a safe alternative and compliments other treatments to produce sustainable results.
Most people are familiar with ‘wet’ salt therapy. Whether you’ve put salt in a bath or have had a saline solution treatment or have used a Nettie pot to clear your nasal passages or gargled with salt water, wet salt has its benefits.
Dry salt is different and the drier the salt the better because when all the moisture is evaporated the salt particles can do their best job.

The Salt Room
The walls and floor of the salt room are covered with many layers and different sizes of crystal salt. This salt is dry and clean. To ensure the purest quality, we use unprocessed, natural crystal salt free from toxic/harmful additives. The salt aerosol consists of salt particles in sizes of 1-5 mkm and invisible to human eyes, being able to penetrate deep into the lung. The particles carry kinetic energy, which is succeeded immediately after crushing the salt crystals in the special grinder.

Salt Therapy Treatment
How many treatments will I need?
Every experience is different, and it depends on the type and severity of your condition. Based on the research, we would recommend a course of 10-12 treatments, preferably within 4-8 weeks. You may feel some improvement after a single session, but a series of treatments is required to achieve long-term results. For mild conditions, 6-8 treatments may be enough. Each session should be repeated every other day for several days, depending on the patient’s needs and the condition. It is recommended to repeat the series of treatment 2-3 times in a year. Some people use treatments as a preventative measure to avoid the common cold and other respiratory viruses, and for overall health & wellness.
It is found to be beneficial that patients obtain treatment twice a week with a 48-hour break between sessions to see best results.
What to expect during the treatment?
Every breath of salty air you take, every precious microelement of salt you inhale in the salt cave is an irreplaceable, natural cure for many health conditions. Sit back, relax, and experience the incredible health benefits of the salt therapy.

Inside the salt cave, visitors can experience the following conditions: humidity of 40-50%, temperature of 70-75 F, the aerosol concentration of 0,5-15 mg/m3.
What to expect after the treatment?
Salt Therapy may produce a slight skin irritation in some individuals that will disappear after a few sessions. Some people will experience a mild salt taste on their lips, similar to being by the ocean. Others may experience a mild throat tickle, which can be easily treated by sipping warm water after the session. Most people will experience increased mucous production. This will present itself in the form of a runny nose or a productive cough after the session. This is the body’s natural mechanism for elimination of toxins, pollens, and viruses. If you have ever smoked in the past, you may experience a period of cough and mucous production as your body naturally clears the lungs of residual toxins. Most asthmatics will also experience an initial period of increased mucous production and cough as the body decreases inflammation, opens airways, and expels the stagnant mucous.
When should the treatment be avoided?
Treatment should be avoided during the acute (active) phase of any illness, including the following: infections accompanied by fever, acute tuberculosis, acute inflammatory diseases, contagious conditions, cardiac insufficiency and severe heart disorders, COPD (chronic obstructive pulmonary disease) in the third stage, bleeding, spitting of blood, alcohol or drug intoxication, unstable or uncontrolled hypertension, and acute stages of respiratory diseases.
*** To ensure your safety and the safety of our clients, we may refuse your treatment if there shall be an evidence of any active phase and/or contiguous disease!!!
Side Effects and Counter Indications
Halotherapy has few and rare side effects. Certain patients may experience a dry throat and increased coughing in the beginning. This is an absolutely natural part of the cleaning process of the respiratory system, during which the pollutants accumulated through a long time and now ripped up by salt, are expelled from even the deepest regions of the lungs. The side effects cease with the removal of pollution and pathogens. Skin irritation and increased dermal sensitivity may also occur. In such a case, decrease the frequency of therapy sessions.
Given how dry salt therapy works, it also: Can expand the airways for increased oxygen flow and capacity to enhance athletic performance and endurance, enable better recovery time from physical activity and stress, accelerate recovery from common colds and the flu, revitalize jet lag, Slow the aging process, detoxification, rehabilitation.
Cancer Prevention – Without sufficient salt in the body, the body will become more and more acidic.
– Dr. Batmanghelidj, M.D.
“EVERY SINGLE PERSON WHO HAS CANCER HAS PH THAT IS TOO ACIDIC”
DR. OTTO WARBURG WON THE NOBEL PRIZE IN 1931 for providing that CANCER can’t survive in an alkaline, oxygen rich environment but thrives in an acidic, low oxygen environment.
Salt, in my opinion, is vital for the prevention and treatment of cancer. Cancer cells are killed by oxygen; they are anaerobic ‘organisms’… dehydration – shortage of water and salt – suppresses the immune system and its disease-fighting cells’ activity…
– Dr. Batmanghelidj, M.D.

History and Research
Saline therapy, a form of treatment for respiratory diseases has been used in Eastern Europe including Poland and Russia for over a century. In 1843, a Polish doctor, F. Boczkowski was the first to discover that the environment inside salt mines had a therapeutic effect on respiratory diseases. Over the years, many salt mines were used, as medical resorts for patients with lung diseases and eventually, Halotherapy became a conventional, effective, and drug free method of treatment for respiratory illness in most of European countries.
Halotherapy has been well researched in Russia, Poland and other parts of Eastern Europe. Most of the research has been conducted by Dr. A. V. Chervinskaya, the head of Clinical Research Respiratory Center in St. Petersburg Russia. She works in the field of pulmonology and rehabilitation medicine and has published more than two hundred articles on this topic. Recently, the New England Journal of Medicine published an article on the efficacy of saline salt therapy in cystic fibrosis. They found that long-term saline salt treatment had a positive impact on lung function and reduced pulmonary exacerbations. In addition, they found no negative side effects associated with the therapy. Please go to our research page for more information.
